‘Cape Breeze’ is a delightful compact variety of Switchgrass that shares the strength and versatility of traditional Switchgrass cultivars but with its own unique charm. It’s wonderfully short and upright, boasts salt tolerance, blooms earlier in the season, and keeps its vibrant green color later into the fall compared to other Switchgrasses. Its compact, dense form makes it perfect for smaller spaces and container gardening. ‘Cape Breeze’ is thought to be a hybrid of native P. virgatum and another mystery species of Panicum.
Just a quick note: asexual reproduction is not allowed without a license. Although these plants may self-seed, cultivars might not reproduce true to type from seed.
