Walk in Beauty™ presents a collection of cold-hardy Prickly Pears that showcase a diverse range of flower colors. Renowned Colorado horticulturist Kelly Grummons has spent years cultivating these hybrids in his Denver gardens, focusing on attributes like cold resilience, drought resistance, and aesthetic appeal.
While some of these varieties are almost spineless, all feature some glochids. They exhibit a low, spreading growth habit, reaching around 6-18 inches in height and 3-4 feet in width at maturity. These plants thrive best in well-drained cactus mixes when grown in containers and also perform well in our native soil. Be cautious not to overwater, and ensure proper drainage for optimal growth.
