Lionheart® is a stunning variety of Hesperaloe campanulata, celebrated for its impressive and upright flower spike that can soar up to 10 feet tall, showcasing a delightful, long-lasting flower display. Just like its Hesperaloe cousins, this beauty begins to bloom in mid-spring and can keep blooming all summer long, even in the heat of summer. Each flower bursts forth with deep pink buds that beautifully unveil an enchanting iridescent white center. The leaves are reminiscent of Hesperaloe funifera, but they are smaller and gentler in texture.
This lovely species grows to just 3 to 4 feet in height and width. To help Lionheart® thrive, plant it in well-drained soil and give it a sunny spot. However, don’t worry; it can also manage reflected heat and some partial shade. Originally from Nuevo Leon, Mexico, this resilient plant can handle chilly temperatures down to 0 º F.
