Carex laxiculmis ‘Hobb’

A neat, well-mannered, evergreen sedge with beautiful, wide, blue leaves. Low-growing mounds form an appealing shape in the shade garden. It can take sun if planted in rich, moist soil; otherwise plant in shade. You can use it as a ground cover, in borders, or mixed with shade-garden favorites. Also appropriate for middle-to-upper zones of rain gardens. This native cultivar is the result of seed collected by Bob Head of Head Ornamentals, Seneca, SC.

Bunny Blue Sedge likes moist, shady areas. The soils should not be allowed to dry out and might need consistent supplemental watering in hot summer weather. Cut foliage to the ground and remove in late winter. In optimum growing conditions, plants will slowly naturalize over time.
