Deep pink-purple flowers bloom atop upright stems of long, thin, silver foliage. A favorite nectar source for many butterflies and attracts skippers and native bees. Perfect addition to pocket prairies and pollinator gardens. Can be used as a cut flower to enhance floral arrangements.
This amazing plant flourishes in tough conditions, earning its common name due to its iron-like durability and striking seed clusters that resemble rust. Thrives in dry caliche, clay, clay loam, medium loam, and sandy loam. Deer and rabbits resistant.
