Not to be confused with the bright red window-box flower that are called “geraniums,” this is the wild version of the real thing–closely related to the garden perennial geraniums like “Johnson’s Blue,” and “Sanguineum.”
The wild one grows to only about 2 ft. and the wide-open, petunia-like flowers range from pink to purple. Beautiful blooms in early summer.
