Western Hostess (Sanford Babson, 1977) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36″ (91 cm) and blooming midseason. This variety features deeply fluted, light blue self petals complemented by a pale yellow beard. Bred from Apropos x Sound Of Music, Western Hostess was introduced by Melrose Gardens in 1978 and received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 1980.
