A fantastic choice for smaller spaces. This charming, stemless yucca typically grows to about 2 feet, spreading to 2 to 3 feet wide. Its twisted bright green leaves create a unique and eye-catching look. In late spring, you can enjoy its lovely 5-foot-tall spikes of creamy white bell-shaped flowers.
Native to shallow, stony soils in fields, among scattered trees, in dense brush, open woodlands, and on limestone ledges in central Texas. Endemic to the Edwards Plateau eco region. It does best in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Can withstand temperatures as low as -10º F. It is also a host plant to several Skipper butterflies.
Great to plant in sunny or shaded rock gardens or shortgrass meadows.
