Trailing Indigo Bush is a trailing sub-shrub groundcover with delicate, silvery blue-green leaves. Clusters of small, pea-shaped purple flowers bloom in spring and early summer that attract native bees and butterflies. Perfect for rocky slopes, as a groundcover, or in containers. Usually only grows to 4-9″ tall, but can reach heights of 1-2′.
Wonderfully resilient, semi-evergreen, and needs almost no maintenance at all! This plant can handle reflected sun and tougher conditions. As a plant native to the Chihuahuan Desert region, where rain comes in the summer, it will need some irrigation during dry summers, but no more than a couple times a month. It’s essential to plant it in well-draining soil, especially in regions with wet winters, as it does not like wet cold and can be susceptible to root rot in such conditions.
