Blue Globe Spruce (Picea pungens ‘Glauca Globosa’) is a compact, slow-growing evergreen conifer valued for its dense, rounded form and striking silvery-blue needles. The foliage is stiff, short, and sharply textured, giving the plant a bold, sculptural appearance year-round. When young, it often forms a tight globe shape, gradually becoming more irregular and slightly pyramidal with age if not pruned. In Regina’s harsh prairie climate, it is very hardy and performs well as a specimen shrub, foundation planting, or accent in rock and mixed borders.
