Texas Sages are a hardy group of well-loved plants known for their amazing ability to withstand cold weather, resist drought, and flourish in hot, sunny climates. One standout variety is ‘Sierra Bouquet’, known for being the most fragrant with blooms that smell like grape bubblegum. These dark royal purple bell-shaped flowers bloom in late summer and fall in response to humidity and rain, contrasting brightly against the silvery foliage, and attracting bumble bees and butterflies.
Its naturally rounded yet open form means no pruning is necessary. While all Texas Sage varieties are set-evergreen, Silver Cloud maintains more greenery in winter compared to many other Texas Sage varieties. It also tolerates more pruning than other varieties, so it can be kept somewhat smaller if so desired.
