Salvia greggii ‘Pink’

Common Names: Pink Autumn Sage, Pink Salvia

Pink Autumn Sage is a lovely, soft, mounding shrub that typically grows 2-3 feet tall, featuring small green leaves that are evergreen charm in warmer climates and small pink flowers that bloom repeatedly from spring until frost.

Considered a favorite in Southwest gardens, Pink Autumn Sage makes a wonderful choice for a small ornamental flowering shrub in perennial beds or even as a low hedge. Its blooms are sure to attract hummingbirds, while the whole plant is resistant to diseases and insects, drought-tolerant, and doesn’t need fertilizing once it’s established.

For the best results, make sure Pink Autumn Sage has a well-drained spot since it doesn’t tolerate clay soils. Adding organic matter can really help improve drainage in clay areas, and planting on a slope can help as well. While it usually holds up well in colder weather, it will go deciduous in regions with extreme winters. Avoid planting it in high foot traffic areas, as its stems are quite brittle and can break easily.

Nectar Source: Hummingbirds, butterflies
