This brilliant native species will attract hummingbirds to the abundant nectar. The aromatic foliage makes it fairly deer-resistant. Several groups of scarlet blooms are spaced along a square stem forming a tall spike of scarlet. Scarlet Sage is an easy-to-grow species that is adaptable to many soil types and will re-seed. Trimming and deadheading will keep it bushy and blooming.
