Palmer’s Penstemon (Penstemon palmeri) is bi-annual forb that thrives in rocky disturbed soils. It is short lived native evergreen that is drought tolerant and excels in the sagebrush-pinon juniper step of the great basin. Produces succulent foliage during the spring and summer and is selectively used by small birds, big game and livestock. It also provides high quality forage during the winter.
