This rare tomatillo is absolutely gorgeous as both a plant and a fruit. Oh, and the sweet scrumptious taste! The leaves of the plant have striking purple veins. The decorative husks are light green to tan. The purple fruits gain more color after husks are removed. The fruits are sweeter than the green variety. Makes an exquisitely beautiful salsa. Also great in a variety of soups, sauces and stews and is a wonderful garnish.
