Sphaeralcea angustifolia

Sphaeralcea angustifolia, commonly known as copper globemallow or narrow-leaved globemallow, is a lovely plant that calls the southwestern United States and northern and central Mexico home. It flourishes in the warm desert and plateau spaces, showcasing its charming woolly or felt-like texture on the many erect stems that can reach heights of up to 6 feet! With their lovely gray-green color, the lance-shaped leaves feature wavy or slightly lobed edges, adding to their unique beauty.

The flowers of Sphaeralcea angustifolia have a delightful blooming pattern; they don’t follow a strict order from bottom to top. Instead, you might spot new blossoms popping up higher or lower on the stem, making each plant special. The cup-shaped flowers boast five petals, each about 1/2 inch long, and are a joyful sight that typically blooms between June and November.
