It is a type of chipotle pepper that is smaller, softer, and often fruitier than the more common tan/brown chipotle meco variety, with a milder smoky flavor. Peppers are medium hot and turn from green to deep red when mature. The plants have green stems, green leaves, and white flowers. It has a fruity and smoky flavor. Usually dried and smoked to make chili powder. Also used extensively in Mexican cuisine. Also known as Little Blackberry Pepper. Excellent choice for home gardens. A variety from Chihuahua, Mexico.
