Quartz Creek Soft Rush: CA native evergreen rhizomatic rush with narrow dark green, grass-like, erect, round stems that grow 18-30″ tall, and eventually form dense colonies. Expands with runners but grows slowly so behaves like a clumping type grass. Flowers are reddish-brown. Great in mass plantings or in containers. Full sun to part shade. Medium to high water. Seacoast, wind, clay, sand, bog, heat and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit and gopher resistant.
