An old-time favourite for many people in the northeast region of the US and eastern Maritimes that is red speckled, superb for baking and soups. It is known to cook in half the time of your typical bean.Our dear friend Richard Beaudette shared these with us.

Companion plants: Corn, Carrot, Cabbage, Cucumber, Pea, Radish, Potato, Squash, Nasturtium, Rosemary.

Planting tip: Direct seed after last frost. To continuously harvest, plant in 3-week intervals.||
Harvesting tip: Wait until pods and enclosed seeds have reached full maturity. For dry beans, allow plenty of space for airflow so they can dry later in the season.
Storage tip: It’s best to only freeze dry beans.
