Plant height of 36″. Very new to the North America, this fruit forming shrub has been cultivated for centuries in Africa for its sweet golden berries. The small yellow fruits resemble yellow currants, but they are more closely related to tomatoes. This plant grows well in containers, and begins to produce early in the season, right into autumn if kept well picked. Avoid eating the unripe fruit.

Planting tip: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost.||Transplant seedlings after the last frost. Golden Pearl requires full sun and well-drained soil.
Harvesting tip: Harvest husked fruits when they fall to the ground or the husk turns papery and tan. Fruits inside should be golden yellow.
Storage tip: Store in their husks at room temperature for 1-2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to a month.
