An Italian landrace from Alpine Italy adapted and selected for centuries from regional farmers in that area. Original breeder William Rubel. Excellent for making cornmeal and polenta recipes with rich flavour.Introduced by SESE and Fedco Seeds 2009.

Planting tip: Direct sow as soon as the soil has warmed up to 19°C.||
Harvesting tip: Harvest when ear silks have dried out and kernels are full and filled up and appropriate colour has appeared.
Storage tip: After harvesting, pull all the husks back at one end of the ear. Bundle a few corns in this manner, tie the husks together w/ a string, and hang them in a dry, well-ventilated location for a few weeks.
