Variegated Star of Madeira: A rapidly growing evergreen shrub to 4-6′ or more tall x 6-8′ wide with long, narrow, variegated gray-green leaves. Large 20″ long flower stalks bearing small bluish-purple flowers with reddish stamens. Full sun, all soil types. Low water needs. Gopher and deer resistant. Seacoast, wind, heat and drought tolerant once established. Hummingbird, bee and pollinator favorite.
