Grow your own birdhouse! A useful, durable gourd which is fun to grow. Harvest when the smooth, greenish rind turns white or starts to brown. Average size 10-12”.

Planting tip: Sow seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost.||
Harvesting tip: In late summer, the gourd’s ripe when its skin’s exceedingly hard, impossible to dent with a fingernail. Another indicator’s when the stem & leaves begin to wither and turn brown. Keep ~2″ of stem when removing.
Storage tip: Cure gourds in a warm, dry, well-ventilated area for several months until they feel lightweight and rattle when shaken. Store cured gourds in a cool, dry place.
