Tussock Bellflower

Tussock bellflower is a charming, low-growing perennial that forms a dense, spreading mound of bright green, toothed foliage. In early summer, upright stems rise above the foliage, carrying an abundance of upward-facing, bell-shaped blue flowers that continue blooming for weeks, especially with regular deadheading. Its compact habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, border edges, pathways, containers, and other small garden spaces.

Despite its delicate appearance, tussock bellflower is a hardy, resilient plant. It performs well in Colorado and other regions with cool summers when provided with regular moisture and well-drained soil. In hotter climates, afternoon shade and consistently moist soil will help keep plants healthy and flowering throughout the season.
