Bacopa (Sutera cordata) is a low-mounded, trailing annual (tender perennial in mild winters) that produces a profusion of small five-petaled white, pink, or blue flowers from late spring through the first frosts, making it excellent for hanging baskets, window boxes, and edging in Willamette Valley gardens. Plant in well-drained soil with morning sun and afternoon shade during hot spells, keep consistently moist but not waterlogged, and pinch or trim lightly to encourage fuller growth—deadheading isn’t required—so you’ll enjoy continuous blooms all season.
