ALACRITY TOMATO | id:44588 | Solanum lycopersicum | Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada | Annual | Open Pollinated

Regular leaf, 4-8 oz round red fruit. Almost multiflora, heat will limit fruitset, tasty, early. The oldest named variety in Canada.
About 1900 W. J. Macoun at the Dominion Experimental Farm in Ottawa started making selections from Sparks’ Earliana, mainly for early maturity and heavy yield. This selection was carried on for about 10 years and resulted in Alacrity, the first tomato cultivar named in Canada. It produces medium to large red fruits and is mid-season in maturity.
