Light: Low to bright indirect light — one of the most light-tolerant houseplants available. Tolerates dim offices and shaded rooms where most plants fail. Avoid direct sun, which scorches the leaves.
Water: Water when the top 2″ of soil are dry. More forgiving of underwatering than overwatering — when in doubt, wait a few more days.
Humidity: Adapts to average home humidity. No misting required.
Temperature: 60–80°F. Keep away from cold drafts and AC vents.
Fertilizer: Light feeder — a balanced liquid fertilizer once in spring and once in summer is plenty.
Pruning: Remove yellow or brown leaves at the base to keep it looking its best.
Propagation: Divide at the root during repotting to create new plants.

Troubleshooting
Yellow leaves: Usually overwatering. Let soil dry more thoroughly between waterings and check pot drainage.
Brown leaf tips: Low humidity or fluoride in tap water. Try filtered water and increase ambient humidity.
Drooping leaves: Underwatering or cold stress. Check soil moisture and move away from drafts.
Slow or no growth: Insufficient light. Move to a brighter spot — even low-light tolerant plants need some light to grow.
Pale, washed-out leaves: Too much direct sun. Move to a spot with filtered or indirect light.
